Timothy Hoffmann, a graduating student from IESE Business School, has been recognized as one of the top MBA candidates in the world for 2026. The annual Poets&Quants list highlights exceptional students who stand out for their leadership, academic performance, and impact on their communities.
Hoffmann came to IESE with a background in finance and technology, but his time in Barcelona reshaped his view of business. He focused on social impact and sustainability, taking part in projects that linked corporate strategy with real-world change. He also led student initiatives aimed at improving diversity and inclusion within the school.
His classmates describe him as a steady and thoughtful leader, someone who listens before acting and brings people together. Hoffmann says the MBA experience pushed him to think beyond profit margins and consider the broader role of business in society.
The Poets&Quants Best and Brightest list is known for featuring students who not only excel in the classroom but also show a commitment to making a difference. Hoffmann's selection places him among a small group of MBAs from top programs worldwide.
He plans to work in impact investing after graduation, applying the lessons from IESE to support ventures that prioritize both financial returns and social good.
