As an American, my first trip to Dublin was filled with surprises about locals, tipping culture, vegetarian options, and various aspects of the vibrant Irish city. From the moment I arrived, the friendly demeanor of the locals stood out. Their warm welcomes and willingness to share stories made me feel right at home.
One of the most notable differences was the tipping culture. Unlike in the United States, where tipping is expected, I learned that in Dublin, it's more of a gesture of appreciation rather than an obligation. This insight helped me navigate dining experiences with ease.
As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of plant-based options available in restaurants and cafes. Dublin's culinary scene is not only rich in traditional Irish dishes but also accommodating to diverse dietary preferences.
Overall, my visit to Dublin was an eye-opening experience that showcased the city's charm and the warmth of its people, leaving me eager to return and explore more.
