Security experts recommend basic steps. Enable multi-factor authentication on every account. Train staff to verify unusual requests through a second channel. Back up data offline and test recovery plans. Limit who can access financial systems.

Funders and boards are beginning to ask harder questions about digital resilience. For nonprofits, cybersecurity is no longer a technical side issue. It is a core part of protecting their mission and the people they serve.
