The Pleasanton City Council will hold its second regular meeting of the month this Monday, after last week's session was abruptly postponed. The cancellation came hours before the meeting was scheduled to start, as a 1,007-acre wildfire began spreading rapidly south of town, forcing officials to shift focus to emergency response.
Among the key items back on the agenda is the Arroyo Lago development proposal. The project has drawn significant attention from residents and city planners alike, with discussions expected to cover design details, environmental impact, and community benefits. The council had originally planned to address the matter last week, but the fire-related delay pushed everything back.
Other postponed business will also be taken up. This includes several routine administrative items and public hearings that were left hanging when the city closed its offices and redirected resources to the fire response. The wildfire, which broke out in dry, grassy hills south of Pleasanton, prompted evacuations and road closures. Fire crews have since made progress containing the blaze, allowing normal city operations to resume.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday evening at city hall. Officials have not indicated any additional changes to the agenda beyond what was originally planned for the canceled session.
