A South Florida man has worked hard to grow his small business. Starting with a single truck, he's now up to nine. But when he took on a job for a local hotel, the work turned into a dispute that has left him footing a bill he says he never should have paid.
The owner says his crew was hired to handle a cleanup project at the property. The job involved hauling away debris and restoring the site to a usable condition. According to him, the work was completed as agreed, and the hotel management initially seemed satisfied with the results.
Then came the bill. The business owner says the hotel has refused to pay for the services, leaving him stuck with the cost of labor, equipment, and disposal fees. For a small operation running on tight margins, that kind of loss hits hard.
He says he has tried repeatedly to resolve the matter directly with the hotel, but those conversations have gone nowhere. Now he is speaking out, hoping to pressure the business into settling what he considers a legitimate debt.
The hotel has not publicly responded to the allegations. The owner says he is prepared to pursue other options if the payment does not come through, but he would rather settle the matter without a legal fight. For now, he is warning other local contractors to get agreements in writing before starting work.
