Student Senate Grants $2,000 to Business Group for Conference Trip

Future Business Leaders of America will send its members to an upcoming conference thanks to a funding boost from the Student Senate. The group requested the money during the Senate meeting on Sept. 29, and the body approved the $2,000 allocation after brief discussion.

The funds will cover registration fees, travel costs, and lodging for students attending the convention. Members said the event offers workshops, networking sessions, and competitions that connect classroom lessons to real business situations.

Several senators asked how many students would attend and whether the group had raised any money on its own. The organization said it had already collected some funds through dues and small fundraisers, but the total fell short of what the trip required.

Supporters argued the conference gives students a chance to build skills in leadership, public speaking, and teamwork. They also noted that students who attend often return with new ideas for campus projects and stronger resumes for internships.

The vote passed with little opposition. The group plans to finalize its travel roster in the coming weeks and will submit receipts to the Senate after the conference ends.
