Alumna Builds a Global Career Through Curiosity and Connection

Business alumna Emily Topielski has built a global career shaped by curiosity and connection, and she is now helping create new opportunities for future Wildcats.

Topielski's path from campus to the international stage was not a straight line. She credits her willingness to ask questions and seek out unfamiliar experiences with opening doors she had not imagined when she first enrolled. Rather than waiting for opportunities to appear, she pursued them across borders and industries, building a professional life that spans markets and cultures.

Her approach centers on relationships. Topielski says the connections she made during her studies, and the ones she has cultivated since, have been as important as any technical skill. That perspective now informs her efforts to give back, as she works to open pathways for students following in her footsteps.

For current students, her advice is direct: stay curious, reach out to people whose work interests you, and do not be afraid to start somewhere unexpected. A global career, she notes, is built one conversation and one bold decision at a time.
