Clients, employees left hanging as NH wedding photography business files for bankruptcy

Clients, employees left hanging as NH wedding photography business files for bankruptcy

Kasey Fedorchuk and her fiancé Joshua Logan are set to tie the knot on Halloween, but just weeks before the couple will say, "I do," an unexpected email hit their inbox. The message informed them that the New Hampshire wedding photography business they had hired was filing for bankruptcy, leaving them without a photographer and uncertain whether they would recover the money they had already paid.

The couple is not alone. Numerous other clients have reported similar notifications, many of them planning weddings within the coming weeks and months. Some had paid thousands of dollars in deposits and final payments for coverage they now will not receive. With dates locked in and vendor schedules filling up fast, couples are scrambling to find replacements, often at higher prices than their original contracts.

Employees of the business have also been affected. Photographers and support staff say they were given little warning before the filing and are now owed wages for work already completed. Several have described confusion over the status of scheduled shoots and unanswered questions about final paychecks.

The bankruptcy filing has prompted a wave of frustration from customers who say communication from the company has been minimal since the announcement. Some have begun organizing to explore their legal options, while others are focused simply on salvaging their wedding plans. Consumer protection officials have not commented publicly on the case.

For Fedorchuk and Logan, the priority now is finding someone available on short notice. They say the financial loss stings, but the bigger worry is walking down the aisle without the photographer they spent months planning around.
