And players themselves are forming support groups, sharing coping strategies, and advocating for better contracts that include mental health clauses. Harrison, for his part, took a full year off. He traveled, picked up a guitar, and played games with no scoreboard. When he returned to competition last month, he did so on his own terms, with a strict practice cap and a promise to himself that the game would never again own him.

The shift is slow, but it is real. Esports is learning that its biggest asset is not the next patch or tournament prize pool. It is the people holding the controllers. And for the first time, the industry is listening to what they actually need.
